Spring/Summer 2007 Presentation, Milan

The press presentation for the Spring/Summer 2007 collection was inspired by the idea of material simplicity, and was interpreted through the artistic renderings of artist Benedetta Mori Ubaldini, who sculpts with chicken wire.

Benedetta Mori Ubaldini fell in love with chicken wire, traditionally a material used for industrial purposes, and used it instead to create sculptures.  For Piazza Sempione, the artist created a series of sculptures, mainly inspired by and imitating the forms of items from the current season, but also sculptures of babies, vases and ornaments.  The sculptures beautifully showed the shape of the garments, displaying them in a way that teased the eye - using an industrial material to create a delicate structure, strong in form but barely there, creating a whimsical world of art and fashion.
