Fall/Winter 2012-13 Presentation

Piazza Sempione’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection, as presented on February 25th during Milan fashion week, draws inspiration from the visual refinement of the Art Deco movement, expressing the elegance and femininity of the season through a creative rhythm of graphic prints and geometric shapes. A modern blend of green and black is evident throughout the collection, as seen in alpaca and mohair checked bouclé coats and skirts, and in the asymmetrical lines and sinuous curves of pleated jersey, silk and wool fluid dresses.

Black, white and grey hues merge to create unique designs, such a menswear-inspired macro-herringbone print and a tweed woven with paper-like yarn filaments. Structured weaves of wool are combined with raw silk, creating a play of textures and materials that highlights the sartorial tradition for which the brand is known. Embellishments of tulle, leather, and touches of sequin embroidery and mink fur heighten the sophistication of each silhouette and emphasize the ultra-feminine qualities of its inspiration.
