Double/Face

On December 1st 2009, Piazza Sempione presented Double/Face, a photographic exhibition of the charity Progetto Sorriso Nel Mondo’s latest mission to Bangladesh.

The exhibition was hosted at our Milan headquarters. It presented photos by Alberto Peroli and drawings by Carlo Stanga which created a picture diary of the charity's mission to Bangladesh.

Progetto Sorriso nel Mondo is an Italian non-profit organization with international recognition dedicated to the treatment of children suffering from cranial facial defects in developing countries. It was founded in 1997 by a group of doctor friends and operates in Bangladesh, Congo, Burundi and Guatemala.

Thanks to this program, which is run exclusively by volunteers, more than 7,000 patients have been examined and more than 3,500 operations have been performed, saving these children from social marginalization or abandonment, an unfortunate but rather common result for children born with such defects.

Piazza Sempione actively supports Progetto Sorriso nel Mondo via fund raising and projects designed to raise awareness.
